Yellow Fever

It's spring, allmost summer, and again like every year my head is full of yellow thoughts! To me yellow is the color of spring, and I have a need to surround myself with yellow things. This year I can't really buy anything yellow 'cause the big plumming project is coming up, so I decided to put all my yellow energy to planning my new home!

The pic with the yellow wall bathroom is great! I don't like the wallpaper that is next to the door, but for some reason that black&yellow combo works really well with the old bathtub..droool. Someday I'll have a bathtub like that(when I have a big enough bathroom first).

Maybe I should paint my doors yellow! My cupboard doors are allmost excatly like those in the pic, it could look really good, and it's easy to paint over them when I get bored to the colour, something to think about at least. They don't even need to be yellow, just some colour I feel like painting them when the time comes. Oh goody, I like that idea! Pics of my home coming up soon.

Inspiration - it's all about the shine

Loving the shine!!Hating the counter tops...

This steel counter top is great...wish I could have that...

Or this concrete one, I like the warehouse feel to it!

I'd love to have a black and shiny kitchen. But because I'm planning to sell my apartment in the future I think it's wiser to stick to the basics...but with a twist. I'm going for boring white, but shiny white! White or black it needs to shine! I'd also love to have all steel counter tops, or ones made of concrete. For most it's too "extreme" so I'll pick a more conservative counter top too.

My kitchen is going to be bought mainly from Ikea, 'cause they have nice designs and it's cheap. I don't wan't to spend lot's of money to a kitchen in an apartment that I'm going to sell fairly soon anyway, or atleast rent it out. I had a really hard time using the Ikea Home Planner, everytime I tired to use it I just found myself pounding my head to the pc screen. Glad my friend helped me out with that! I need to visit Ikea soon to see the alternatives that I have! As long as the cuppoards have a shiny surface I'm happy...atleast for now.

Unfinished Castle

New kitchen!New bathroom! New new new!
I love interior design, I love to spend money on that(when ever I have any)...now there's an ultimate renovation coming up in few months...plumming. Plumming means a lot of dust, lot of hustle and stress. BUT I've decided not to think about those depressing phases of this whole project, instead I'll consentrate on improving and designing!

My home is my castle, a small one but still a castle! We live in Helsinki, Torkkelinmäki in a stone building, built in the early 1920's. We've got 25 square meters, with a small kitchen and an even smaller bathroom. This castle has character, with it's rustic wooden floors and high sealings!

I fell in love head over heels with my apartment 2 years ago, and pretty much bought it without thinking about it that much. It had a horrible orange wall and the ugliest wooden loft bed but I didn't mind I just wanted it. Since that I've painted one wall and the loft bed but there's still lot's to do!

Now the big plumming renovation is allmost here and it's time to make plans! To be honest I do stress about this, sometimes so much that I feel like screaming my head off...but I need to keep it together and I need to stay focused. It's going to take 3 months of pure hell, without no home but after that I'll have pretty funcioting kitchen and a new shiny bathroom!Yey!
I'll survive, I'm sure.
